Profile

Leena is the Treasurer of the International Fiscal Association Mauritius Branch. She is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA UK) and a member of the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountant and holds a Master In Business Administration from the University of Mauritius.  Leena is a Senior Manager working at the Financial Services Commission.

She is proud of having represented Mauritius at the OECD Global Forum in Paris in 2010. Leena is passionate about the financial services sector and International taxation and has spent over 20 years of her life working and improving the legislative framework of the sector in the various capacity she held at the FSC.  She excels in strategy, business development and communication.  She has recently set up and led the Fintech-Authorisation cluster. She is a former Head of Licensing, she has set up the Fintech cluster at the FSC and worked on several frameworks for new licence type, she possesses an innate ability to lead big teams and produce strong results. She was a member of several committees on taxation in Mauritius relating to OECD BEPS, CRS, FATCA, DTAAs.

She is also a Consultant to the World Bank and has recently worked on World Bank FIRST Initiative – Strengthening the insurance sector regulation and supervision to enable a better managed insurance sector by encouraging sounder risk management and risk assessment in the insurance sector.
